Why We Built AIToolsBakery
A while back we started trying to use AI tools seriously. Not just playing around with ChatGPT. Actually trying to build things, create content, automate tasks, and figure out which tools were genuinely useful versus which ones were just well marketed.
What we found was frustrating. Most of the reviews online were either written by AI itself, funded by the tool companies, or so technical that they assumed you already knew what you were doing. There was almost nothing written for someone who just wants a straight answer. Someone who wants to know if a tool is actually worth their time.
So we built AIToolsBakery. A place where every tool gets properly tested. Where reviews are written in plain language. Where the only question we try to answer is: is this tool actually worth your time?
We called it a bakery because good baking takes time. You can’t rush it, you can’t fake it, and when it’s done right you know immediately. That’s how we approach every review.

We Sign Up and Use It Ourselves
We create a real account on the free plan or trial, the same way any new user would. We do not get special access, preview builds or paid accounts provided by the tool company. We start from zero every time.

We Test the Core Use Case
Every tool exists to do something specific. We test that specific thing. A writing tool gets tested for writing. An image tool gets tested for image generation. We do not test edge cases or niche features in the main review. We test what most people actually use it for.

We Check the Real-World Experience
We ask one question at every step. Could someone unfamiliar with the tool figure this out? We look at onboarding, interface clarity, help documentation and how quickly a new user can get a useful result. If it takes more than 10 minutes to produce something worthwhile, that goes in the review.

We Review the Pricing Honestly
We break down exactly what you get on the free plan, what is locked behind a paywall, and whether the paid plan is actually worth it. We highlight hidden limits, usage caps and anything we think is unfair to the user.

We Give It a Real Rating
Our rating out of 5 is based on four things: ease of use, output quality, value for money, and how useful it genuinely is for most users. We do not inflate ratings. A 3 out of 5 means decent but not exceptional. A 5 out of 5 means we would recommend it to anyone who asks.

We Write the Review in Plain Language
No jargon. No technical specs that require a background in machine learning to understand. We write every review in plain, direct language. No jargon, no assumed knowledge. That is the standard every piece of content on this site is held to.
